The annual Executive Education course “Improving and Expanding Housing Finance Systems”, scheduled for June 1 – 8, 2020, and the “Workshop on Securitization and Mortgage Bonds”, scheduled for June 9 – 10, 2020, have been cancelled due to COVID-19-related travel restrictions. The course and workshop will be conducted again from June 7 – 18, 2021.
This is a two-week course in housing finance that provides an in-depth understanding of global housing markets, the most recent housing finance innovations, and international housing finance business practices and structures. Lectures and case study presentations focus on innovative lending products and practices, FinTech applications, the risks faced by finance institutions and ways to manage those risks, alternative funding sources for housing finance, construction finance, Shari’ah compliant housing finance, mini-mortgages and micro-finance in housing, and ways to expand housing finance to the informally employed and low-income groups.
The workshop is a hands-on practical workshop taught by practitioners who will use real-life security/covered bond examples and problem sets. It includes the institutional and financial arrangements for mortgage securitization, mortgage bonds, and hybrid deals.
Program details, costs and application forms will be posted in November 2020. More information is available on the IHFP course page.
